Ponytail Palm (Beaucarnea recurvata)

The ponytail palm is native to the semi-deserts of southeastern Mexico and grows wild all the way from Honduras to Texas. It gets its name from the thick lower part of the trunk where the tree stores water.

The beautiful and tough ponytail palm is carefree and easy to grow at home. Due to its origin, it is worth choosing a place that is as bright and sunny as possible.

When it comes to watering, a tree accustomed to semi-desert conditions is modest, so only water your ponytail palm when the soil is dry. The soil suitable for this palm is flower or cactus soil with a little sand added.
