How long does it take to germinate seeds?

Every tree species is different, and there are big differences in seed germination time between species. Pine and the lemon tree, for example, germinate at their best in a couple of weeks. Olive tree on the other hand may take up to 12 weeks to germinate.


Can I start growing the tree in the fall or winter as well?


Yes you can. The start of the tree growing does not look at the season or the year. An old proverb says so "The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago. The second best is today." If you start in October-March often it is advisable to buy a simple plant lamp to bring extra light. A lamp is a small investment that brings a lot of joy to you and your tree.


Does the olive / lemon / fig tree make fruit?

Basically, you can get a harvest out of all of the trees. There are big differences between species in how they succeed. For example a self-pollinating common fig is a pretty sure fruit maker if you just winter it in the dark and cool (5-10 ° C) for a couple of winters.
The lemon tree requires several years before it blooms and is ready to grow lemons. It also needs help with pollinating - the watercolor brush works very well. Gently wipe the long thin stems of the flower with a brush and collect the desired pollen, then brush the next flower in the middle of the details of the pistil. Repeat with all flowers. Then you just need to wait.
The olive tree is ready to grow olives when it is about 4-6 years old and blooms. Basically all olive trees are self-pollinating, but if you want to want to make sure your tree produces olives you want to keep multiple olive trees close together to ensure cross-pollination.

When is it time to switch to a bigger pot?

Plant your little tree in a larger pot when it has grown 10 to 20 centimeters tall. You can move your tree along with a biodegradable paper pot or biodegradable planting bag directly to a larger pot. Be sure to use a pot with a hole in the bottom to drain excess water. Also, be sure to place a fair layer of gravel on the bottom of the large pot. Use a suitable soil for your tree.


I’m going on a trip - for how long can I leave my tree alone?


The tree will survive perfectly for a few weeks alone if you just make sure it gets enough light and water. A watering globe is a good investment to ensure your tree's water supply. Leave your tree by the bright window so that it gets enough light.


My tree looks droopy, what can I do?

If your tree looks withered and droopy; check the following: • How does the pot / growing bag feel ... is it light or really heavy? Has it received too little or too much water? How does the soil feel when you press your finger on it? Wrong amount of water is the most common cause of tree dissatisfaction - try changing the watering interval and amount and watch how your tree reacts. • Do the roots come out of the growing pot / bag? If the answer is yes, it’s time to change your tree to a larger pot. • Is the tree positioned correctly? Does it receive light appropriately for the species, is it too sunny, semi-shady, or shady? Does it get too much heat that dries out the roots - is it misplaced directly on top of the underfloor heating?
• When was the last time you fertilized your tree? Check how often and with what fertilizer your tree should be fertilized.

Can I buy a gift card from you?

Unfortunately, it is not yet possible to purchase a gift card.

How fast does my order arrive?

We strive to ship your order as quickly as possible. After ordering, you will receive a tracking number that will allow you to track the progress of the package in the mail. Usually the package will arrive to you within 4-6 working days at the latest.


Can I make changes to my order afterwards?

Unfortunately you can not, the growing kits cannot be removed or added to the order afterwards. If you want to buy more growing kits you need to place a new order.


Can I cancel my order?

Of course you can - send an email to hello@happytree.fi as soon as possible and we will try to cancel your order before posting it and we will refund the payment. If your order has already left you can return it in its original packaging back to us. We will send you more detailed instructions by e-mail. Important! Do not open the package. The package must be unused and in the condition in which it was received.


I got the wrong growing kit, what do I do?

We always try to be really precise, but nevertheless we can sometimes make a human error and send the wrong growing kit. If this happens, send us a message to hello@happytree.fi as soon as possible. We will check the issue and send you the right growing kit as soon as possible.


My package arrived broken / it had broken during transport

If the package has been broken or the contents have been damaged during transport, take pictures of it and send them with your order information to us as soon as possible to hello@happytree.fi. Do not throw the package in the trash. We will contact you as soon as possible.


I want to return the growing kit, what do I do?

Too bad our Happytree growing kit wasn’t your thing. You can return it within 14 days of its arrival. IMPORTANT! Please note that the package must be unused and in the condition in which it was received, as the right of return only applies to unused, original and sellable packages that have been returned carefully packaged.

1. First send us a return notification by e-mail hello@happytree.fi with your order number, name and telephone number and the name of the growing kit you ordered. We will then send you a return code.

2. Remove the original address card from the cardboard box and write the return code you received from us on the side of the package and take the package to any Post office.

3. Once the refund has been received by us and we have verified it, we will refund your money as soon as possible.
